Most of the San Francisco locksmith artists that we have today have practiced this art for a number of years, taking time to study and to gain more information that can be beneficial to them in their daily lives. A lot of us have been in need of their assistance every so often. However, very few of us really know the history of the locks and the lock change, and how they came to be in the first place.
The locks as we know them today have been around for quite some time now, and as such they do have a rich history in tow. The original locks were designed by the Egyptians, and it is their technology that found its way into the British and American lands thousands of years ago. Though the British and the Americans both designed these early locks, it is the British who managed to come up with some of the best in the market.
The success of the British locks as compared to the American locks was more or less attributed to the fact that they managed to have patents and sole rights to their technology. For this reason, they also kept secret their means of production. Therefore the American locks ended up being poorly designed as compared to the British, and the Americans had to wait until 1805 for one of their own to hit the big scene. Abraham Stansbury, in 1805, managed to patent his works on the pin tumbler lock after a long time working on the Egyptian designs together with the Bramah principle.
From then on, there have been a lot of locksmith San Francisco developments that have kept on improving the level of security for so many people. Today the locks have taken a whole new look, and there are so many innovative designs available in the market that you can choose from.
